A Szemüveges Srác Narancs Bor

The 2023 Medox pays tribute to a childhood spirit that is slowly disappearing. But this wine is not nostalgia. It is a statement.

A long skin-contact Hárslevelű from Somló that has no interest in behaving, fitting in or asking permission. Deep gold in colour, layered and uncompromising, it carries a savory, spicy character and the unmistakable tension of volcanic ground. It is alive, restless and occasionally unpredictable – just like the punks.

The wine fermented spontaneously on the skins at 18 °C, without the addition of cultured yeast. Eighty percent was aged for twelve months in Hungarian oak, including six months on the fine lees, while the remaining twenty percent matured in tank. The two portions were reunited at the end of the ageing period.

Bottled unfined, unfiltered and without added sulphur. It was not made for everyone. But for those who understand its world, it may become a loyal companion.
