Kancellár Birtok is one of the younger, yet larger estates on Somló. Horváth Ferenc and his family relaunched the winery in 2014 with 11 hectares; today they farm around 20 hectares across several important sites on the hill, including Séd, Szent Ilona, Ragalja and Szent Márton.
The estate works with Somló’s classic varieties—Juhfark, Furmint, Hárslevelű and Olaszrizling—while using a modern approach in both the vineyard and cellar. The focus is on clean, clearly defined wines that retain the volcanic identity of Somló while remaining accessible and easy to understand.
